Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- Cool Whip - 2 c
- hot water - 2 c
- miniature marshmallows - 1 c
- bananas, sliced - 2 item
- juice of 1 lemon
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 1 c
- unflavored gelatin - 1 pkg
- medium apple, chopped - 1 item
- apricot jello
- cold water, divided - 2 c
- reserved fruit liquid - 1 c
- small can crushed pineapple, drained save juice - 1 item
- large can fruit cocktail, drained save juice - 1 item
- orange/lemon jello
- Dissolve flavored jello in hot water and add unflavored gelatin in dissolved also
How to make spring salad:
Soften unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water. Dissolve flavored jello in hot water and add unflavored gelatin in dissolved also. Add remaining cold water and chill until thickened. Coat sliced bananas and apple with lemon juice. Add other ingredients to thickened gelatin mixture and pour into 13 x 9-inch glass pan; chill until set. Prepare Spring Salad Topping and spoon over gelatin. Top with cheese. Serves 12 to 20.Spring Salad Topping:1 egg, beaten1/2 c. sugar2 c. Cool Whip2 Tbsp. flour1 c. reserved fruit liquid1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated Prepare topping by combining egg, flour, sugar and reserved liquid; cook over low heat until thickened. Cool. Fold into Cool Whip and spoon over gelatin.
