Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs, separated - 2 item
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- boiling water
- white cornmeal - 1 c
How to make spoon bread:
Mix cornmeal and boiling water. Cool to lukewarm. Add yolks of eggs, well beaten, with milk, salt and baking powder. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in greased 2-quart baking dish at 325° for about 1 hour.Recipe categories: Breads, < 15 mins, Side dish.
