Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 to
  • fresh or canned bean sprouts, drained - 2 c
  • can water chestnuts, drained and sliced - 1 oz
  • hard-cooked eggs, sliced - 4 item
  • green onions, including tops, sliced - 1/4 c
  • bacon, fried and crumbled - 1/2 lb
  • fresh mushrooms, sliced - 1 c
  • sugar
  • vinegar - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil - 1/4 c
  • catsup - 1/3 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp

How to make spinach salad:

Dressing:2/3 c. sugar1/4 c. vinegar1 tsp. salt1/4 c. vegetable oil1/3 c. catsup1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Wash spinach in cold water and dry thoroughly. Tear the spinach into a large salad bowl. Wash and drain bean sprouts. Add bean sprouts, water chestnuts, eggs, onion, bacon and mushrooms to spinach. Combine the dressing ingredients in a jar, cover and shake well.

At serving time, pour dressing over salad, toss lightly until spinach leaves are well coated. Serve immediately! Serves 8 to 10.
