Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- water
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- chopped green pepper - 1 c
- ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- lean ground beef - 1 lb
- ground cumin - 1/2 tsp
- seasoned salt - 1 tsp
- uncooked rice - 1 c
- can tomatoes, drained and chopped optional - 1 1/2
How to make spanish rice:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add beef, onion and green pepper, cooking until there is no more pink to the meat; drain liquid. Stir in remaining ingredients; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Yields 6 servings.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low fat, Side dish.
