Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped green pepper - 1/3 c
- clove garlic - 1 item
- chopped parsley - 1 tsp
- diced celery - 1/4 c
- cooked rice
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- pinch of marjoram - 1 item
- chopped mushrooms - 1/4 c
- slices bacon, cut up - 2 item
- ground beef or turkey - 1/2 lb
- diced Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- bay leaf optional - 1 item
- thinly sliced onions optional - 1 c
How to make spanish rice:
Fry bacon, garlic, ground beef and celery until lightly browned. Add tomatoes and seasonings. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer gently for 1/2 hour. Remove bay leaf and garlic.
