Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • can 1 c - 1 oz
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • grated Parmesan - 1/3 c
  • shredded Mozzarella - 1/2 c
  • well-beaten eggs - 2 item
  • spaghetti, cooked - 6 oz
  • cottage cheese 8 oz - 1 c

How to make spaghetti pie:

Stir butter into hot spaghetti. Add Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a buttered 10-inch pie plate. Spread cottage cheese over bottom of "crust." In skillet cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until vegetables are tender and meat browned. Drain off excess fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt; heat through. Turn meat mixture into "crust." Bake uncovered for 20 minutes at 350°. Sprinkle Mozzarella on top; bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese melts. Makes 8 servings.
