Ingredients/Components
- 1 lb - 4 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- jar salsa - 1 oz
- can refried beans - 1 oz
- water - 1/4 c
- jar pasteurized cheese dip - 1 oz
- can diced green chilies - 1 oz
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- 4 oz - 1 c
- Garnish Suggestions: sour cream
- chopped tomato - 1 item
- sliced green onion - 1 item
How to make southwestern pasta:
Garnish Suggestions: sour cream chopped tomato sliced green onion Heat oven to 425°. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and keep hot.In a large skillet, cook beef and onion until beef is browned; drain. Stir in salsa, beans and water.
In a large bowl, combine pasta, cheese dip, chilies, milk and salt; spread in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Spoon meat mixture on top of pasta, letting some of pasta mixture show through; cover. Bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with cheese; bake, uncovered, for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Garnish as desired. Yield: 10 to 12 servings.
