Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour - 6 c
  • oil - 3/4 c
  • buttermilk - 2 c
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • warm water - 1 c
  • dry yeast - 1 pkg

How to make sourdough biscuits:

Dissolve yeast in water; set aside. Mix milk and oil; stir in yeast mixture. Mix dry ingredients together; then add to liquid mixture. May be rolled out immediately or let rise up to 2 hours. Place on a greased sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 400°.

May be stored for several days in refrigerator in a greased, covered bowl.
