Sour cream rhubarb squares
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- packed brown sugar
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine, melted - 1 Tbsp
- rhubarb 1/2-inch pieces
How to make sour cream rhubarb squares:
Mix granulated sugar, nuts, butter or margarine and cinnamon until crumbly. Set aside. Cream together brown sugar, shortening and egg. Thoroughly stir together flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Stir in rhubarb. Turn into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan. Sprinkle with reserved topping. Bake in 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes.
