Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- sour cream - 1/2 pt
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs, separated - 6 item
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- sticks butter - 2 item
- sifted plain flour - 3 c
- almond extract optional - 1 tsp
- lemon extract optional - 1 tsp
How to make sour cream pound cake:
Beat egg whites in a bowl; set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Beat well. Sift flour. Measure. Sift again with soda and salt. Alternately add flour and sour cream to egg mixture, a little at a time. Fold in beaten egg whites and vanilla (almond and lemon, if desired).
