  • sugar - 3 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • sour cream - 1/2 pt
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • eggs, separated - 6 item
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • sticks butter - 2 item
  • sifted plain flour - 3 c
  • almond extract optional - 1 tsp
  • lemon extract optional - 1 tsp

How to make sour cream pound cake:

Beat egg whites in a bowl; set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Beat well. Sift flour. Measure. Sift again with soda and salt. Alternately add flour and sour cream to egg mixture, a little at a time. Fold in beaten egg whites and vanilla (almond and lemon, if desired). Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours.
