- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- sour cream - 3/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda
- confectioners sugar - 3 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- margarine - 1/4 c
- melted unsweetened chocolate - 4 oz
- Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting - 1 item
- melted, unsweetened chocolate - 3 oz
- Grease and flour oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inch or two 9-inch round layer pans
How to make sour cream chocolate cake:
Heat oven to 350°. Grease and flour oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inch or two 9-inch round layer pans. Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl. Mix 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat 3 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl. Pour into pans. Bake oblong 40 to 45 minutes, layers 30 to 35 minutes. Cool and frost.Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting:1/3 c. butter or margarine3 oz. melted, unsweetened chocolate3 c. confectioners sugar1/2 c. sour cream2 tsp. vanilla Mix butter and cooled chocolate thoroughly.
