  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • sour cream - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • shortening - 1/4 c
  • melted unsweetened chocolate, cooled - 4 oz

How to make sour cream chocolate cake:

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 13 x 9 x 2-inch oblong pan or 2 (9-inch) or 3 (8-inch) round layer pans. Measure all ingredients into large mixing bowl. Mix 1/2 minute on low speed. Beat 3 minutes on high speed. Scrape bowl. Pour into pan(s). Bake until top springs back when touched lightly with finger. Cool. Frost if desired or eat plain.
