  • sugar
  • flour - 2 c
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/3 c

How to make shortcake:

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add milk and egg. Mix gradually. Drop on cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes in a 450° oven. While warm, split and butter. Serve with a topping of whipped cream and strawberries.
