Shoo-fly pie

Ingredients/Components

• brown sugar
• baking soda - 1/2 tsp
• pinch of salt - 1 item
• boiling water - 3/4 c
• shortening - 1/2 c
• molasses - 1/2 c
• sifted flour - 2 c

How to make shoo-fly pie:

Crumbs:1 c. brown sugar2 c. sifted flour pinch of salt1/2 c. shortening Line pie plate with single pie crust. Dissolve soda in molasses until it foams. Pour filling into pie shell. Mix "crumbs" ingredients and sprinkle on top of filling. Bake at 375° until crumbs are golden in color.
