Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- baking soda - 1 Tbsp
- boiling water - 2 c
- molasses - 1 c
- Crisco - 1 c
How to make shoo-fly cake:
Mix together the flour, sugar, Crisco and salt. When crumbs are made, remove 1 cup for topping.Mix together the boiling water, molasses and soda; add to large portion of crumb mixture. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top. Bake at 350° for 40 to 60 minutes (until toothpick comes out clean).
