Seafood gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1/3 c
- water - 3 qt
- oil - 1/3 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- onions, chopped - 3 item
- crabmeat - 1 lb
- bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- peeled shrimp - 2 lb
- oysters - 1 pt
- garlic cloves, chopped - 3 item
How to make seafood gumbo:
First make a roux with flour and oil. Add vegetables and simmer, stirring constantly. Add warm water slowly with remainder of seasonings. Cook on low heat for 1/2 hour. Add shrimp. Fifteen minutes later, add oysters and crabmeat and cook for another 15 minutes.Turn off heat. Let stand for at least an hour before serving. Add filet (optional) and rice to bowls when serving.
