Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • melted butter - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • sage - 1/2 tsp
  • grated cheese - 1/2 1
  • onion, chopped - 1/2 c
  • celery, chopped - 1 c
  • loaf French bread - 1 item
  • hot sausage - 1 lb

How to make sausage stuffed french bread:

Cook sausage until pink is gone. Add onion and celery. Cook until tender and sausage is brown. Slice bread lengthwise and remove insides to form a shell. Combine pulled bread, seasonings and cooked sausage mixture. Add eggs and milk; toss with stuffing to mix well. Mound onto halves of bread shell and brush with melted butter. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 400° oven for 20 minutes. Remove and add grated cheese; return to oven for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Remove and place halves together. Slice and serve.
