Sausage casserole
Ingredients/Components
- all-purpose flour - 1/4 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 3 Tbsp
- skim milk - 2 c
- chopped onions - 1 c
- ground sage - 1/4 tsp
- chopped green peppers - 1/2 c
- chopped carrot - 1/2 c
- cans white kidney beans - 2 oz
- sweet Italian turkey sausage, cut into 1-inch slices - 2 lb
How to make sausage casserole:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown sausage. Drain. Add onions, carrot and green pepper; cook until tender. Stir in flour until smooth. Gradually stir in milk; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and begins to boil. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and sage.In a 3-quart baking dish, combine beans and sausage mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes or until hot.
