Sauerkraut soup
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- water
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- potatoes, diced - 2 c
- sauerkraut - 1 c
- egg, beaten optional - 1 item
- oleo or bacon drippings - 2 Tbsp
- large or 1 small onion, diced - 1/2 item
How to make sauerkraut soup:
Boil potatoes, sauerkraut and onion for 20 minutes. If you are using the egg add it here. Shake flour into water to thicken soup. Season with oleo or drippings. Bring to a boil, stirring. Add sour cream. Turn off heat.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Main dish, One Dish meal.
