- sugar
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- finely cut sauerkraut - 1/2 c
How to make sauerkraut cake:
Sift dry ingredients. Cream sugar, shortening and vanilla; add eggs, one at a time. Add water alternately with dry ingredients to egg and sugar mixture. Stir in sauerkraut. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan for 35 to 45 minutes at 375°.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Vegetables.
