San francisco chops
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- water - 2 Tbsp
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- soy sauce - 4 Tbsp
- crushed red pepper - 1/4 tsp
- pork chops - 4 item
- broth or dry sherry - 4 Tbsp
How to make san francisco chops:
Sauce:2 tsp. oil4 Tbsp. broth or dry sherry4 Tbsp. soy sauce2 Tbsp. brown sugar1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper2 tsp. cornstarch2 Tbsp. water Heat oil in skillet; brown chops on both sides. Remove and saute garlic for 1 minute. Combine oil, sherry, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper. Place chops in skillet. Pour sauce over them. Cover tightly; simmer over low heat for 35 minutes. Add a little water, if needed, to keep sauce from cooking down too much. Remove chops; thicken with cornstarch. Pour over chops and serve.
