  • eggs - 3 item
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • margarine, softened - 2 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • shredded Swiss cheese - 1 c
  • slices rye bread - 6 item
  • sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained - 1 c
  • cooked ham, cut in cubes - 8 oz

How to make reuben casserole:

Spread one side of bread slices with butter. Stack and cut in 1-inch cubes. Place in greased 12 x 8-inch baking dish. Add ham, cheese and sauerkraut; toss to mix. With fork beat the eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper. Pour over bread mixture. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes at 350°, until top is lightly browned and egg mixture is set. Makes 4 main dish servings.
