- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp

- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts optional - 1 item
- stick butter - 1 item
- box confectioners sugar - 1 item
- cake flour - 3 c
- Wesson oil - 1 c
- bottle red food coloring - 1 item
How to make red velvet cake:
Icing:1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 box confectioners sugar1 stick butter chopped nuts (optional) Sift together dry ingredients. Set aside. Cream margarine, oil and sugar. Add eggs. Mix well. Add coloring and vinegar. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350° until done.For icing, cream ingredients and spread on cooled layers.
