- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- vanilla flavoring
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- self-rising flour
- red food coloring - 2 3
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Wesson oil
- cream cheese room temperature - 8 oz
- Frosting:1 stick margarine
How to make red velvet cake:
Frosting:1 stick margarine8 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)1 box powdered sugar1 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. vanilla Mix sugar, oil and eggs; beat well. Mix red food coloring, vinegar and cocoa together in a cup. Add other mixture and beat well. Add buttermilk, flour and flavoring. Beat until mixed. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Makes 3 layers.Frosting: Mix well. Cool cake before icing.
