Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 lb
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • cooked rice - 6 c
  • Tabasco - 1/4 tsp
  • cans red beans - 3 oz
  • clove chopped garlic - 1 item
  • strips bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces - 2 item
  • pinch of ground thyme - 1 item

How to make red beans and rice:

Place all ingredients except sausage and rice in a 2-quart pan. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add sausage to red beans the last 30 minutes of cooking time. Serve over rice.
