Ingredients/Components
- raisins - 2 c
- shortening - 1 c
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
How to make raisin cookies:
Put raisins into saucepan and cover with 2 or 3 cups of water. Cook 5 to 10 minutes. Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift together 4 cups flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon and salt. In a separate bowl, mix shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla mixture with drained raisins. Add 1 cup water raisins were cooked in to mixture alternately with flour mixture, stirring by hand. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.
