Raisin bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 2/3 tsp
- flour - 2/3 c
- melted margarine - 2/3 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- raisins - 1 c
- warm water - 1/3 c
- cinnamon to taste - 1 item
- dry yeast - 1/2 pkg
- scalded milk - 1/2 c
How to make raisin bread:
Combine milk, sugar, margarine and salt. Cool to room temperature. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to the milk mixture. Beat in egg and then 2 cups flour. Add raisins and mix with a spoon. Stir in the remaining flour until mix is stiff (elastic). Place in bowl for 2 hours to rise with the greased side up. Roll out and cover side with cinnamon and sugar; roll up to fit bread pan. Let rise for 1/2 hour and cook at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool on rack.Recipe categories: Breads, American, North american.
