- sugar
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 3 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- lemon flavoring - 1/2 tsp
- sweet milk - 1 c
How to make pound cake:
Combine flour, salt and baking powder and sift 3 times. Cream butter, sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Add flour and milk alternately, beginning and ending with flour. Add flavorings. Cook in greased tube pan at 350° for 1 hour. Test with toothpick. It may need to cook 5 or 10 minutes longer.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
