  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c

How to make plain cake:

Combine all ingredients and beat for 5 minutes. Bake at 350° until cake shrinks from sides of pan (greased 13 x 9-inch pan). Good for strawberry shortcake.
