Pickled okra
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1 qt
- cloves garlic - 7 item
- dill seed - 2 tsp
- pickling salt - 1/3 c
- small okra pods
- small fresh hot peppers - 7 item
How to make pickled okra:
Pack okra tightly into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Place a garlic clove and a hot pepper in each.Combine water, vinegar, salt and dill seed in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour boiling vinegar mixture over okra, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Remove air bubbles. Wipe jar rims. Cover at once with lids and screw on bands. Process in boiling water bath 10 minutes. Yields 7 pints.
