- salt - 1/2 c
- brown sugar - 2 lb
- vinegar - 1 qt
- celery seed - 1 Tbsp
- cabbage - 7 lb
- mustard seed - 1 Tbsp
- green peppers - 4 item
- turmeric - 1 Tbsp
- large onions - 4 item
- red hot pepper - 1 item
How to make pickled cabbage:
Chop cabbage as for slaw. Add onions, peppers, mustard seed, celery seed, turmeric and salt. Heat vinegar and brown sugar. Pour over mixture and mix well. Pack in jars and seal. Hot water bath for 10 minutes.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetarian, Asian.
