Perfect divinity

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 5 c
• salt - 1/4 tsp
• chopped nuts - 2 c
• vanilla flavoring - 2 tsp
• water - 1 c
• light corn syrup - 1 c
• eggs whites - 3 item

How to make perfect divinity:

Combine sugar, corn syrup, water and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Heat to boiling. Cover and boil 2 minutes. Uncover and cook to a soft ball stage or to 238°. Beat egg whites until stiff but not too dry. Slowly pour syrup over egg whites. Beat until candy is cool and holds shape. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto wax paper. Allow to cool.
