  • sugar - 2/3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • strawberry preserves - 1/3 c
  • unbeaten egg whites - 2 item
  • cherries, halved - 18 item
  • ground pecans or pecan meal - 2 c

How to make pecan cookies:

Combine pecans and sugar. Add egg whites and mix until mixture is completely damp. Form into small balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press a small hole in center with finger. Fill with preserves. Put half cherry on top. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet at once.
