Pecan bars
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- butter - 1 c
- heavy cream - 1/3 c
- dark brown sugar - 1 c
- all-purpose flour
- quick or old-fashioned oats
- dark brown sugar packed - 1 c
- butter DO NOT USE MARGARINE - 1/2 c
- or 1 7oz
How to make pecan bars:
In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, 1 cup dark brown sugar. Cut 1/2 cup butter into mixture till coarse and crumbly. Press into a 13x9-inch baking pan. Place pecans evenly over crumb mixture.In a heavy saucepan, combine sugars and 1 cup butter. Bring to full-rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 3 minutes; remove from heat. Stir in whipping cream and vanilla till well blended; pour over pecans. Bake in a preheated 350°F. oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in pan; cut into 48 bars.
