Pear relish
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 6 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- vinegar
- mustard seed - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric - 2 Tbsp
- onions - 1/2 gal
- red sweet peppers - 7 item
- green sweet peppers - 7 item
- or 5 hot peppers - 4 item
- peeled pears, cut up - 1 gal
How to make pear relish:
Grind together the pears, peppers and onions; add the salt and let stand 1 hour. Drain off and discard liquid. Add to the relish mixture the vinegar, sugar, mustard seed and turmeric and bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes. Put into pint jars with 2-piece canning lids and seal according to package directions.Recipe categories: Fruit, Condiments, etc., Pears.
