Pear relish
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- flour - 5 Tbsp
- vinegar - 3/4 qt
- dry mustard - 3 Tbsp
- celery seed - 1 Tbsp
- red pepper - 2 Tbsp
- turmeric - 1 Tbsp
- onions - 3 lb
- raw pears - 2 qt
- large bell peppers - 4 item
- large dill pickles - 6 item
How to make pear relish:
Coarsely grind pears and mix with salt, sugar, and celery seed in a pot. Make paste of remaining dry ingredients and 1 c. vinegar in another pot and cook a few minutes. Add rest of vinegar and ground ingredients. Cook 15 minutes. Seal in pint jars while hot. Makes 10 pt.Recipe categories: Fruit, Condiments, etc., Pears.
