Peanut butter pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 2 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- egg whites - 3 item
- powdered sugar - 3/4 c
- peanut butter - 1/2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- unbaked pie shell - 1 item
How to make peanut butter pie:
Cream powdered sugar and peanut butter until it is crumbly. Set aside. Stir next 8 ingredients in a saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring just below boiling point. Bake pie shell until half done, then sprinkle 3/4 of the peanut butter and powdered sugar mixture over shell. Pour custard into shell.Sprinkle remaining mixture on top of meringue made from the egg whites, cream of tartar and sugar. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
