Peanut butter cookies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1/2 c
• vanilla - 1/2 tsp
• butter or margarine - 1/2 c
• salt - 1/4 tsp
• flour
• brown sugar - 1/2 c
• baking soda - 3/4 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• peanut butter - 1/2 c

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Thoroughly cream butter or margarine, peanut butter, sugars, egg and vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture. Shape in 1-inch balls, rolling in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press 5 peanut halves atop each or crisscross with fork tines. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from pan. Makes 4 dozen.
