Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- soda - 3/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- peanut butter - 1/2 c
- sifted all-purpose flour
- soft shortening - 1/2 c
How to make peanut butter cookies:
Heat oven to 375°. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Mix shortening, peanut butter, sugars and egg until well mixed. Add vanilla. Stir in flour mixture. Chill dough; roll into balls about the size of a quarter. Place on cookie sheet; flatten with a fork dipped in flour, making a crisscross design. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
