  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • soda - 3/4 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • peanut butter - 1/2 c
  • soft shortening - 1/2 c
  • granulated sugar, packed - 1/2 c

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Preheat oven to 375°. Mix shortening, peanut butter, sugars and egg thoroughly. Sift rest of ingredients together and stir in above mixture. Chill dough 1 1/2 hours. Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts. Place 3 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork dipped in flour in crisscross design. Bake 10 minutes.
