Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • baking powder
  • shortening - 3 Tbsp
  • all-purpose flour - 1 c
  • lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • sliced peaches - 4 c

How to make peach cobbler:

Heat oven to 400°.

Mix sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in saucepan. Stir in peaches and juice. Cook until thick and boiling. Boil one minute. Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole. Keep mixture hot in oven. Cut shortening into flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, baking powder and salt until mixture looks like crumbs. Stir in milk. Drop dough by 6 spoonfuls onto hot peach mixture. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Top should be golden brown. Serve hot.
