Peach cobbler


Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- baking powder
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- ground cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- sliced peaches - 4 c
How to make peach cobbler:
Heat oven to 400°. Mix sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in 2 quart saucepan. Stir in peaches and lemon juice. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Pour into ungreased 2 quart casserole, keep peach mixture hot in oven. Cut shortening into flour, sugar, baking powder and salt until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in milk. Drop dough by 6 spoonfuls onto hot peach mixture. Bake until topping is golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cobblers and crisps, Peaches.
