  • pkg - 1 oz
  • butter or margarine, melted - 1 Tbsp
  • garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
  • dry bread crumbs - 1/4 c
  • dried chives - 1 tsp
  • sour cream, softened - 1 c
  • mashed potatoes can use instant potatoes - 4 c

How to make party potatoes:

In a large bowl, combine potatoes, sour cream, cream cheese, chives and garlic powder. Put in a 2-quart casserole dish. Combine bread crumbs with butter; sprinkle over potato mixture. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes. Top with cheese. Serve immediately. Can be made the day ahead and baked the next day.
