Oriental salad
Ingredients/Components
- small head nappa cabbage, sliced fine - 1 item
- green onions, sliced thin - 5 item
- stick oleo - 1 item
- Ramen noodles - 1 pkg
- slivered almonds - 3/4 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- dash of cayenne pepper - 1 item
- small green pepper, chopped optional - 1 item
- toasted sunflower seeds optional - 1 item
How to make oriental salad:
Mix cabbage and green onions and refrigerate. In small skillet melt oleo and break apart noodles; fry, stirring often, until they are golden brown. Rake noodles out of butter. Add slivered almonds to butter and fry about 1 minute, stirring continually. Drain noodles and almonds on paper towel.Mix oil, sugar, vinegar, salt and cayenne together well. Add flavor packet from noodles to this. Just before serving, toss all ingredients together. This will not stay crunchy if made ahead. Add sunflower seeds or green pepper if you choose.
