  • sugar
  • eggs - 5 item
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • stick margarine or butter - 1 item
  • orange flavoring - 2 Tbsp
  • or more powdered sugar
  • Crisco solid shortening - 1 c
  • Orange Crush or other orange soda - 1 c
  • small amount orange drink or orange flavoring - 1 item

How to make orange crush cake:

Glaze:1 c. or more powdered sugar small amount orange drink or orange flavoring Cream shortening and margarine with electric mixer. Add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with orange drink (add dry ingredients in thirds, liquid by halves). Add flavoring. Bake in greased and floured tube or Bundt pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Remove immediately from pan.

Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with flavoring or orange drink until smooth. Drizzle over hot cake and immediately cover. Do not make glaze too thin. Mountain Dew or other lemon-lime soda may be used instead of the orange and use lemon flavoring then.
