Ingredients/Components

  • shortening - 1 c
  • peanut butter - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
  • flour
  • soda - 2 tsp

How to make old-fashioned peanut butter cookies:

Cream shortening, peanut butter and sugars until smooth. Add eggs, then flour sifted with soda. Roll into small balls. Place on cookie sheet and with wet fork, flatten in a crisscross design. Bake at 400° for about 10 minutes. Yields 4 dozen.
