Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2/3 c
- butter or margarine - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- all purpose flour - 1/3 c
- water
- 8 oz - 1 pkg
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- garlic clove, minced - 1 item
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- chicken - 2 c
- chicken bouillon granules - 2 tsp
- cold butter or margarine - 1/3 c
- frozen mixed vegetables - 1 c
- Stir in flour, garlic, salt and pepper until well blended
How to make old fashioned chicken pot pie:
In sauce pan, melt butter. Stir in flour, garlic, salt and pepper until well blended. Gradually stir in water, milk and bouillon. Bring to a boil and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in chicken and veggies, set aside.Pastry:1 2/3 c. all purpose flour2 tsp. celery seed1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, cubed1/3 c. cold butter or margarine Combine flour and celery seed in a bowl. Cut in cream cheese and butter until crumbly. Work mixture by hand until dough forms a ball. On lightly floured surface roll 2/3 of the pastry dough into a 12-inch square. Transfer to an 8-inch square baking dish. Pour filling into crust. Roll the remaining dough into a 9-inch square and place over filling. Trim, seal and flute the edges of the dough, cut slits in pastry.
