  • Sugar - 1 C
  • Salt
  • Flour
  • Vanilla - 1 tsp
  • Eggs - 2 item
  • Baking Powder
  • Shortening
  • Nuts optional
  • Baking Chocolate - 2 oz

How to make old fashioned brownies:

Melt shortening and baking chocolate in saucepan. Mix together egg and sugar in large mixing bowl. Add melted chocolate and shortening to eggs and sugar, mix well. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl then, slowly add to chocolate mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9x9 pan. Bake at 350° for 22 min. Recipe can be doubled for 9x13-inch pan.
