Old fashioned bread stuffing
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- margarine - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chicken broth - 1/2 c
- diced celery - 1 c
- poultry seasoning - 2 Tbsp
- large onions - 2 item
- crumbled day-old cornbread - 6 c
- crumbled day-old sliced bread or biscuits - 6 c
How to make old fashioned bread stuffing:
Chop onions fine. Cook in the margarine until tender, but not brown. Add bread crumbs, broth, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning. Mix well. (If not moist enough, add more broth.) Makes enough stuffing for a 12 to 15 pound turkey or may be baked in well-greased baking pan.Recipe categories: Side dish, Stuffings Dressings, Thanksgiving.
