Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • nuts - 1/4 c
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • oats - 3 c

How to make oatmeal crisps:

Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add all ingredients, but nuts and oats; beat well. Add nuts and oats. Form in rolls and chill at least 45 minutes in refrigerator. Slice 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick and bake on ungreased sheet at 350° for 10 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
